W. Cumming that the Council pass an ordinance regulating the manner <br />and places in which the "Star Spangled Banner" may be played, sung or rendered. <br /> It is recommended that no action be t~ken on the petition at this time. <br /> <br /> To consider an ordinance regulating the City Cemeteries and fixing the duties of the Keep- <br />er of Cemeteries; also to include the fixing of the salary of said Keeper and his Assistant, <br />beginning January l, 1~I7. <br /> We report that we have considered this matter and it is recommended that the follow- <br />ing ordin~nce be adopted to cover s~me: <br /> An Ordinance Rela~ing to the Keeper of the Cemeteries, <br />Fixing ~he Time of his Election, his Term of Office, his S~lary and Duties; and also Fixing <br />the Salary of the Assistant Cemetery Keeper. <br /> <br />Referred October 31st. <br /> <br /> To draft an ordinance changing the names of the following streets in West Park View: Wil- <br />son avenue ~o First avenue~ Guthrie to Second avenue; Spratley to West Villa; and Sale to West <br />Leckie. <br /> It is recommended that the following ordinance be adopted covering such~changes in <br />the names of s~Id Streets in West Park View: <br /> An Ordins~uce to Change ~he Names of Certain <br />Streets in the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> A communication from the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor and Industrial Statistics <br />with re~o~rd to adopting adequate fire escape ordinances. <br /> Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> To draft an ordinance covering the removal of dead horses from the streets, as recommend- <br />ed by the Department of Public Service. <br /> It is recommended that the following ordinance be adopted therefor: <br /> An Ordinance <br />Providing for the Remov&l f~om the City of Des~l Horses, Mules, Cows, and other Cattle and Large <br />Animals or the Carcasses thereof. <br /> <br /> It is ~urther recommended that the following ordinance be adopted: <br /> An Ordinance <br />to Amend Section 163 of the Municipal Code by Adding thereto t63(a) in Reference to the Duties <br />of the Tenants ~z~i Occupants of Stalls in the Fish and'Vegetable Market in Seeing to its Clean- <br />ly and Sanitary Condition, and to Prevent 0pen Fires therein. <br /> <br />Jno.
