Building 0o~e, Police Rules, City Fire In- <br />surance Committee, City Property Committee. <br /> <br /> "Matter of Public Buildings: <br /> "The work of repairing the house of the Annex Fire Company <br />has been completed with the exception of the plastering; this has been delayed.on account of <br />the non-arrival of the special paint ordered for the roof to stop the leaks in the same. <br /> <br />"The work of remodeling the City Collector's Office is about compIeted. <br /> <br /> "! would respectfully suggest the installation of fly-proof screen doors at the market so <br />as to aid the general sanitation of the meat market. <br /> <br /> "Washin~on Street Park~_i: <br /> "All of th~ parkways have now been plowed and harrowed, I have <br />not, however, been able as yet to get labor to sow the parks with grass. I have con~lted the <br />majority of the members o~ the Council s~ud with their consent have handed the parkways over to <br />the Garden Association for the purpose of g~rden cultivation, ~ince doing so, the Rev. Mr, <br />Br6wn has callsd at my office and protested against the use of the parkways from London to North <br />Streets for this purpose. The Street Railway Company has been notified twi0~ to attend to the <br />parkways in which their tracks are placed according to their agreement, but so fa~ they have <br />not paid any attention to our requests. <br /> <br /> "Fire Department: <br /> <br />which i have accepted, <br />in his place. <br /> <br />"Mr. J. C. Talbot of the flying sqU~rOn has submitted his resignation <br />and I have appointed Mr. R. 0. Scott, Substitute Fireman, as a regular <br /> <br /> "None of the new fire apparatus h~s as yet arrived though the first piece was due on or <br />about N~y 10th, I have written twice to the representative of the Americmn-LaFrs~uce Co. but <br />hmve not received a s~tisfactory a~swer fro~ him as to the cause of the delay. <br /> <br /> "Street Work_: <br /> "The read machine is continuing to give good service and has been over a~d <br />shaped up,many of the dir~ streets, The asphalt repair g~ng has also m~de very good progress <br />in patching the asphalt pavements; up to d~ts the North end of Court Street, all of High Street <br />from the Ferry to Chestnut St., all of South Court St., Wythe St.,a~d the Westerly side of TFour- <br />th St, to ~eyond Lincoln St, h~vs been repaired ~nd at a very much lower cost than this work <br />has cost in the past, <br /> <br /> "The Little Farms Movement continues to <br />tivation in the Pa~k View section alone, not <br />City. <br /> <br />flouish.
