December'13, 1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, <br />December 13, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, Ja~es T. Martin, <br />Ca~eron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City <br />Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-480 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 1994, <br />1994, for the purpose of a joint meeting with Portsmouth <br />Redevelopment and Housing Authority. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />The following PRHA Commissioners were present for Executive <br />Session: <br /> <br />George Eberwine, <br />Fred Fletcher <br />Lee King <br />Junius Williams <br /> <br />Chairman <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of <br />the Code of Virglnaa for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments of Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use <br />of real property for public purpose or the disposition of <br />publicly held real property in the southern, central, downtown, <br />PortCentre, and downtown portions of the City, as permitted <br />under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />members pertaining to a legal matter requiring advice by <br />counsel involving inoperative vehicles, as permitted under <br />Subsection (A) (7). <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
