<br /> Mr. Hefoert stated that there shoued~be some difference in pay between the
<br />two Assistants to the Eeeper of the Cemeteries, as the work and responsibility of the Assis-
<br />tant at Oa~ Grove Cemetery w~s greater than at the Cedmr Grove az~d, as the difference in pay
<br />o£ them would not increase the total pay of same, he moved that the ~ay of the Assistant mt
<br />the Oak ~rove Cemetery be made $75. per month and that of the ~S~letmnt at the Cedar Grove
<br />be m~de $65.00. The motion w~s adopted.

<br /> It w~s noted that members of the School Board and Superintendent of the School~
<br />were present in the interest of an increased appropriation f~r the Public Schools and, on
<br />motion, the privilege of the floor w~s accorded them.
<br /> Whereupon, The Superintendent Of the Schools,and Nr. Harry Cuthrlell, a member of the
<br />School Board, spoke and urged the necessity for an additional appropriation of $t2,000. for
<br />Public Schools for the Year 191~.
<br /> They were assured by the Ch~i~ and by several othe~ members of the Council, that they
<br />would favor the appropriation if it coui~ ~e shown in the face of the City Budget ~here the
<br />money is to come from, and:that, while they could not see the way clear for the appropriation
<br />at this time, they might find a wmy in the near future when they would vote for it cheerfully.
