January 13, 1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Friday, <br />January 13, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, James T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City <br />Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />95-25 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 1995, for <br />the purpose of an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion or consideration of the use of real <br />property for public purpose or the disposition of publicly held <br />real property in the PortCentre and downtown portions of the <br />City, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3). <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the performance of <br />Council Members, as permitted under Section (A) (1). <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by a vote of 4-3 (Hawks, Martin, <br />Robinett). <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />95-26 - The following item was discussed during Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by M~. Robinett, to have <br />Council by unanimous consent add to the agenda a request to <br />contact parties to get permission to release all information <br />from the entities who submitted proposals to operate riverboat <br />gambling facilities, and was defeated by a vote of 3-4 <br />(Clemons, Griffin, Pitts, Webb). <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br /> · G~oria O.
