January 23, 1995 5¥9 At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Monday, January 23, 1995, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., JameS C. Hawks, James T, Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr. Appointees present: Sheila P. Pittman, City Clerk William Froehlich, City Assessor Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney V. Wayne Orton, City Manager 95-27 The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the city Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 23, 1995, for the purpose of appointee evaluations. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Discussion or consideration of the performance of City Council appointees, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the i~mediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion meeting adjourned at Mayor 10:30 p.m. CMC/aAE ~owell Pittman, - City Clerk Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons was absent.
