De'october 18, 1918. At an adjourned regula~ meetimg o~f the City Council December t3th there were. present: Messrs-- M. P. Claud, J. T. Hanvey, C. H. Herbert, E. H. Wr ~ight, 4. Also the City ManaEer. Nhere~mpon, the City Manager presented a plan for the ~re-routing of the street ca~ in the City. The~ plan was discussed but no action was taken on same. On adjou~ned. REPORTS OF D~PAR~NTS Law-- Presented the i~lTowing ordinance:- Regulations Governing Traffic in Nilk'~ud Cream, the ~oductio~, Distribution, Sale or Offering for Sale in the City. of Portsmouth of ~ilk and Cream ~nd Providins for the Inspection by the Board of Health of all P. ersons, Buildings, Places, Matters, Things and Animals Employed or Used in the Production, Handling, Distribution, Sa!~ or 0ff9ring for Sale of Milk and-Cream~ntended for Human Consumption in said City, Autho- rizing the Boa~d of Health to Enforce Provisions of the Ordinance and Providing Penalties for the Violation Thereof. On motion, the ordinance was ~ferr~d~%o the Depa~tment of Law and City Attorney, and copies of same ordered to be sent to each member of Cou~icil. Public Service-- No report Public Property-- ~'Inreference to the communication from the Central Labor Union and Citi- zens ~ass Meeting in regard to the~Eerry, we beg to report that the present lease of the ferry D~s not terminated and until the lease is terminated there is ~othing for the Council to do~ ~e believe the contract with the U. S. Goverr~ment fo~ the operation of the Ferries is an excellent one and can not in the face of this statement recommend its annulment.~ (Signed) Earl H.
