R. O. P. <br /> <br />October 22, 1919 <br /> <br />recommendation was adopted, the funds to be allowed out of appropriation already allowed for <br />"Street Paving." <br /> <br /> The Public P~opertyDepartment recommended that the Mayor.and City Clerk be authorized to <br />sigh the lease fdr the concession building on the Norfolk side of the ferries, as submitted by <br />the attorney ~or the Housing Corporation; and the recommendation was adopted. <br /> <br />The Department of Pttblic Safety made the loll'owing report, which was adopted: <br /> <br />Referred 0etober !4th <br /> <br /> City~Mznager submits commtmicationfrom the Chief of the Fi~e Department r~co~mending that <br />~. W. T. Hodges, Engineer No. I Engine. Co., be retired upon full pay, as he is unfit for active <br />s~rvloe in respondiz~ to alarms, caused by accident at the corner of South and ~iddle streets <br />PeB~t~kry 16th. <br /> It is recommended that Mr. Hodges be retired on the same conditions as others have, <br />on full pay, as he was incapacitiated while in the discharge of his dutieS. <br /> <br />Referred September 16th <br /> <br /> A cormmn~ication from the U. S. Housing Corporation requesting the Council td install mddit- <br />ional street lights at Trttxton, which are required in order to eliminate unlighted spaces ad- <br />joining houses and stores and to eliminate dangerous "dark areas" along Deep Creek Boulevard, <br />Key Road and New Manly Stent; also signal to indmcate location of important Fire alarm boxes. <br /> It is recommended that the three electric lights requested for True. ton be authorized <br />to be placed. <br /> <br /> It is further recommended that an appropriation not to emceed $50. be made for Feed <br />of Horses ~or patrol duty in Port Norfolk. <br /> <br />(Signed) <br /> <br />C.
