February 14, 1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, <br />February 14, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> *Mayor Gloria O. Webb~ Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, *James T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City <br />Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />95-65 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 1995, for <br />the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 95-66 - The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Update on 5825 Branch Street <br />2. Update on Galaxy Project <br />3. Medical services by Maryview <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the use of real <br />property for public purpose or the disposition of publicly <br />held rea~ property in the PortCentre, downtown and central <br />portions of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by <br />staff regarding legal matters involving SPSA, and the Adelman <br />suit, as permitted under Subsection (A) (7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
