February 14, 1995 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, February 14, 1995, there were present: *Mayor Gloria O. Webb~ Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, *James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 95-65 The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 1995, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 95-66 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Update on 5825 Branch Street 2. Update on Galaxy Project 3. Medical services by Maryview Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); (2) Discussion or consideration of the use of real property for public purpose or the disposition of publicly held rea~ property in the PortCentre, downtown and central portions of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); (3) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by staff regarding legal matters involving SPSA, and the Adelman suit, as permitted under Subsection (A) (7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
