<br /> Whereupon, Messrs. J. W. Roundtree, J. Davis Reed, and W. J. Pate testified for th~
<br />City Manager, and ~chn Warren, Osoie Dashiell, T. A. Talbot, W. D. Milford, and J. M. B~o~ghton
<br />testified for the defense, and G. H~ Pettijohn closed the evidence by testifying for the City
<br />Manager.

<br /> After the summing up of the case by City Attorney Georg~ Bosman for the City Manager
<br />and attorneys H, J. Davis and R. H. Bagby for the defense, Mr. White moved that the Council
<br />retire to discuss the evidence and formulate a report. The motion was adopted.

<br />Mr. Brooks then offered the following resolution:

<br /> "Whereas, Purmmant to request dated January ll, 1921, from officers J. M. Broughton, H. A.
<br />Eden and S. C. Williams, requesting afull, free and public investigation of th~action of
<br />the City Manager in suspending the aforesaid officers from duty, on such information as was in
<br />his hands,and the Council havi~g complied therewith; an~
