O48 <br /> <br />March 27, 1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City COuncil held on Monday, <br />March 27, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James C. Hawks, *Ja~nes T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City <br />Manager, George M. Willson, Acting City Attorney. <br /> <br /> 95-130 , The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City CoUncil Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />95-131 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Pinner's Point Connector <br /> <br />2. Convention & Visitors Center Annual Report <br /> <br />3. Vision 2005 <br /> <br />4. Football Schedule <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> {1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion of the use of publicly held real property <br />in the downtown and Churchland portions of the City, as <br />permitted under Subsections (A) (3) and (A) (7); <br /> <br /> (3) Discussion of a personnel matter involving the <br />Sheriff's Department, as permitted under Subsection {A)(1); <br /> <br /> (4) Consultation with legal counsel pertaining to elected <br />school boards, as permitted under Subsection (A)(7); <br /> <br /> (5) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />pertaining to a legal matter involving the development of <br />property in the central portion of the City, as permitted under <br />Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Cie/nons, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public bus~ness matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Acts and <br /> <br /> <br />
