<br />Then the License Tax Ordinance was taken up for consideration.
<br />
<br /> Mr. White moved that the ordinance be read section by section, ~nd that the privilege
<br />of the floor be granted to mny citizen who may be interested in same. The motion was adopted.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Hall moved that a tax of $31.00, instead of $26.00, be placed on public aocountmnts
<br />in Section 1. The motion was adopted.
<br />
<br />Mr. White pre~ented the following minority report on paragraph ~, Section 2: "Each
<br />land ~gent, $101.QO; and each a~ent fo~ renting houses and collecting ren~s of houses, $51.00."
<br /> The recommendation was lsst by the following vote:

<br /> Mr. Hall moved that the following clause be added Zo Secti'on 6: "Resident of the City,

<br /> The following recommendations were read from the members of the Finance Committee on
<br />paragraph ~ of.Section 9, with regard to jitneys:

<br /> Mr. Hall mov~c~ ~ in Section 2£ on Electric Light Companies, the words or electric
<br /> power or service~"~fm~ter the words "electric lights." The motion-was a<iopted.
<br />. . Mr. Br. ook~ m~oved that a flat tax of $5,000. be placed on "any person or company who
<br /> shall engage zn the ibusiness of ~u~nishing Electric Lights, or Electric P~wer or Service,"
<br /> in addition to a t~ of'one-half oJ one per cent of the gross receipts of such person or com-
<br /> pany."

<br /> Mr. Hall moved that in Section 27~ "Ga~ Company~ a fta~ tax of $2,500.00 shall be added,
<br />in addition to one-half of one per cent from gross receipts from sale of gms.
