June 1~, 19al <br /> <br /> Then the purchase of the Alexander property on Court street, from S. A. L. tracks to <br />Wythe street, for addition to the playground, was taken up. <br /> <br /> M~. White moved that the Council go on record as opposing the purchase of the lmroperty <br />at this time. Whereupon, Mr. Esleeck raised the point of'order that the motion bY Mr. White <br />was cut of order. The CB~ir ruled that the motion offered by Mr. White was in order. <br /> Then Mr. Esleeck moved as an amen~ntttO the motion that the City Manager be authorized <br />to offer Mr. Alexander $1~,000.' for the property, and if said offer, be refused, that he be <br />~uthorized to institute condemnation proceedings to obtain the same. Seconded by Mr. Brooks. <br /> .Mr. ~t raised the point: of order, ~nd Mr. Esleeck' withdrew his ~maesdment and then <br />M~.I~ withdrew his motion. <br /> <br /> When Mr. Esleeck moved that the M~nager be authorised to offer Mr. Alexander <br />for the property, and if said offer be refused, that he be authorized to ~stitute condemna- <br />tion proceedings to secure the site for pa~kpurposes. <br /> <br />The motion by Mr. Esleeok wasX~sStby the-t~ollowing vote~ <br /> <br />Ayes-- Brooks, Esleeck, 2. <br />Nays-- Smith, H~ll, Hutchins, 0asr, White, <br /> <br />On motion, adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
