October 3rd, 1921 <br /> <br />At a special.meeting of the City Council October 3rd there~we~e present: <br /> <br />~essrs-- ~e~on Brooke, R. B. Esleeck, J. H. Hall, Jr., <br /> R. A. Hut~hins, Jr., J. C. Smith, 5. ~ <br /> <br />The following directions were read for the special meeting: <br /> <br />"Mr. <br /> <br />L. C. Brinson, <br /> City Clerk & Auditor, <br /> <br />"Port,curb, Vm., <br /> <br />30, 192i. <br /> <br />"~ear Sir:-- <br /> You ~ill please omll m special meeting of the City. Counoii for Monday, Oc- <br /> <br />tober 3rd, at 8 o'clock P. M., to tmke up with the Building Committee of the School <br /> <br />the Superintendent of Schools matter of new school buildings. <br /> By the Council. <br /> <br />"R. A. Hutchins, Jr., President." <br /> <br /> N~ Hunt, Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. Briggs, President of the School Board, spoke <br />ms to the revised plans Sot Building Program, and mlso as to immedimte needs along the line <br />off school buildings. MesSrs.'Shepherd and McGehee ~lso spoke as to need for so~et~ing to be <br />done in mhe line of school buildings. <br /> <br />(Present Mr. ~nite) <br /> <br /> After some discussion of the mmtter by Messrs. White, H~ll, Brooks, Hutohins, Mm. White <br />of£ered the following m~tion: ~/Thm~ the Council authorize the School Bomrd to mdvertise for <br />bids on the construction of additions ~o the Woodrow Wilson High School Building and the <br />ferson Street SchoOl Building; and mlso to secu~ve option on m suitmble school site in Monroe <br />Ward; mnd'to repor~ to the Council the'$ppropriation needed for these items." <br /> The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes-- Esleeok, Hall, Hutchins~ Smith, ~ite, <br /> ~r.
