<br /> ?th. Recommendmtion that an appropriation of $5,000.00 be made~ from Ninth Wa~d funds,
<br />for macadam road sixteen feet wide on Chestnut St., from Jefferson St. to the Old Deep O~eek
<br />Road; the filling of holes· on' the Old Deep Creek Road, between Chestnut St. and a certain
<br />lane; and for minor repairs on-the Deep Creek Road.
<br /> On motion, the recommended appropriation was referred to the Finance Committee.

<br /> W. T. Eastwood for the destruction of m hat and damage to automobile caused by a tree pro~

<br /> 9th. Forwarding communication .from the Portsmouth-Suffolk Bus Co., through its counsel,
<br /> Mr. Vincent L. Pa~ke~v,asking for an extension of 30 days on the date for commencing operation
<br /> of busses between Portsmouth and Suffolk; and the Manager recommends that this request be
<br /> granted.

<br /> llth. Enclosing ~ fumther resolution dmawn by the attorney for the Wmter Department in
<br />connection with the condemnation of lots near the Godwin Street Pumpin~ Station; it having
<br />been found necessary to change this resolution on account of certain changes in ownership,
<br />conveyances and errors in names of persons for whom the lots were assessed. As directed
<br />by the Council, the resolution authorizes him to offer the assessed value of. the lots to the
<br />several owners. (The following is the resolution:)

<br /> "WHEREAS, a resolution was adopted by the City Council on the 9th d~y of August, 1921,
<br />~directing the City ~nager to offer the owners of lots numbered from 1 to 26, inclusive,
<br />in Block A, as shown by the plat of O. S. Cook, sought to be acquired by the City of Ports-
<br />mouth for~the purpose of enlarging and extending the City Water Works, their assessed val~e
<br />for the same; and

<br /> "WHEREAS, The owner~ of said lots were correctly n~med in said resolution, save as to
<br /> lots ~numbered from 19 to 2~, inclusive, which ~e owned by L. O. Irving, H.' A. Irving, and
