<br />spoke u~ging the~ Council to mmke the appropriation.
<br />
<br /> Then Mr. Nh'itc moved that the City Attorney be i~str~ucted ~to cLraft/for $250,000.00
<br />~chool Bonds, with request tha~ th~ School Board ge~ new bids on heating. The motion was mdopted
<br />by the following vote: Ayes-- Esleeok, Hall, Hu~ohins, Oast, Smith, ~hite, 6~ N~ys- Brooks, 1.
<br /> The School B~rd recommended also that the Council make an ~ppropriation .of $18,000. O0
<br />for the erection of a negro school in Plnners Point, said amount to he charged against the
<br />Eighth Watch
<br /> On motion of' Mr. Hall, the privilege of the floor was granted to Chas. F. Harper,
<br />representing the Eighth Ward Civic Leag,~e, who u~ged Council ~o'make such an appropriation.
<br /> ' Nr. Brooks moved that the matter be referred to the Finance Committee~ City Attorney
<br />and City Manager. The motion was ~dopted.
<br />
<br /> A request w~s~rea~ f~om the Sew~nee Athletic Association for the Council to endorse a.
<br />Food and Industrial Show proposed to be conducted by s&id Association for a week beginning
<br />December 19th. '
<br /> Mr. Brooks moved that the privilege~of the floor be gTsmted to ~representatiwes ~rom
<br />said Association. The motion was adopted, smd Messrs. Coker and R. D. Guy spoke in favo=
<br />of conducting the show.
<br /> Then N_v. Esleeck moved thmt the Council endorse the holding o~ such a show by the
<br />S~w~ne~ Athletic Association. The momion was adopted.
