May 28, 2002 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., Interim City Manager C. W. McCoy, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. 02 - 154 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, (~th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2002 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." 02 - 155 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. Youth Advisory Commission Annual Report 2. Clean Community Commission Report 3. Six-Year VDOT Allocation Plan 4. Six-Project Plan - Hampton Roads Transportation Improvements 5. Middle Street Contract (~. Elizabeth River Properties 7. Financial Report for April 2002 8. Fairwood Homes Update 02 - 15(~ - Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-371 I(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: - employee personnel matters and appointments to boards and commissions, as per subsection 1; - the sale of real property for public purpose, as per subsection 3; and - consultation with legal counsel about specific legal matters, as per authorized by subsection 7. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
