May 28, 2002 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., Interim City Manager C. W. McCoy, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />02 - 154 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, (~th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />May 28, 2002 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />02 - 155 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. Youth Advisory Commission Annual Report <br />2. Clean Community Commission Report <br />3. Six-Year VDOT Allocation Plan <br /> <br />4. Six-Project Plan - Hampton Roads Transportation Improvements <br /> <br />5. Middle Street Contract <br /> <br />(~. Elizabeth River Properties <br /> <br />7. Financial Report for April 2002 <br /> <br />8. Fairwood Homes Update <br /> <br />02 - 15(~ - Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-371 I(A) of the Code of Virginia, to <br />discuss or consider the following: <br /> <br /> - employee personnel matters and appointments to boards and commissions, <br />as per subsection 1; <br /> <br /> - the sale of real property for public purpose, as per subsection 3; and <br /> <br /> - consultation with legal counsel about specific legal matters, as per authorized <br />by subsection 7. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br /> the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br /> the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
