Ma~8~1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Monday, <br />May 8, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, James T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City <br />Manager, George M. Willson, Acting City Attorney. <br /> <br />95-220 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to'be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />95-221 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Classification and Pay Plan <br /> <br />2. Historic Zoning District Comparison <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.17344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br />(1} Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the use of publicly <br />held real property in the PortCentre section of the City, and <br />discussion of the disposition of publicly held real property in <br />the River Pointe section of the City, as permitted under <br />Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (3) Consideration of a legal matter involving a proposed <br />real estate development in the central portion of the City, as <br />permitted under Subsection (A)(7); <br /> <br /> (4) Discussion or consideration of a personnel matter <br />involving all Council appointees, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1} Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
