Clemons, Bernard <br />D. Griffin, Sr., *James C. Hawks, *James T. Martin, Cameron C. <br />Pitts, V. Wayne 0rton, City Manager, George M. Willson, Acting <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br />95-224 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 95-225 The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Classification and Pay Plan <br /> <br />2. Children's Museum of Virginia <br /> <br />3. Community Corrections Act <br /> <br />4. TRT Trolley/Shuttle <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 <br />of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions <br />by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the use of publicly held <br />real property in the PortCentre section of the City, and <br />discussion or consideration of the disposition of publicly held <br />real property in the downtown section of the City, as permitted <br />under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (3) Discussion of the expansion of an existing business <br />when no previous announcement has been made of the business' <br />interest in expansion, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> (4) Discussion or consideration of personnel matters <br />involving a fire department applicant and employees of Public <br />Utilities Department, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> (5) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />pertaining to actual litigation (Adelman, et al., vs City o__f <br />Portsmouth), as permitted under Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> <br />
