132 <br /> May 22, 1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City COuncil held on Monday, <br />May 22, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., J~unes T. <br />Martin, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., Johnna Whitaker, Chief <br />Financial Officer, George M. Willson, ACting City Attorney. <br /> <br />95-245 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chs-~ber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />95-246 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Employee Benefit Changes <br /> <br />2. Portsmouth Community Health Center <br /> <br />3. Twin Pines Road Borrow Pit Site <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Martin, <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of SeCtion <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br />to go <br /> <br /> 1, Discussion or consideration of the use of real property <br />for public purpose in the central pOrtion of the city and in <br />Suffolk, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> 2. Consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff <br />pertaining to a matter of actual litigation (Adelman, et al., <br />vs City of Portsmouth), and to a proposed development agreement <br />affecting property in the central portion of the City, as <br />permitted under Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br /> 3. Discussion of a personnel matter involving Council <br />appointees, as permitted under Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Martin pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.. <br /> <br /> <br />
