<br />The following motion of Er. White pending when Council adj=urned ~ay 22nd was the first
<br />6~d~-~'of business: That the ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance Amending and re-ordaining
<br />Sections $2 and 3 of "An Ordinance Prescribing the ~*~amber of Jitneys to Operate on each
<br />Jitney Route and Fixing the Schedules therefor,'" be ls~Id on the table until the next regular
<br />meeting of Oouncil. Er. White moved that the ordinance be laid on the Sable.

<br /> Recommendation of the ~anager that a.n appropriation of $525.00 be mmde 'to inet. sase the
<br />salary of the Physician to the Poor to $2qO0.00 per year, effective June 1st, 1923, the venereal
<br />disease clinic to be h~ndled by said Officer as part of his regular d~ties, if the increase
<br />is allowed.
<br /> It is recommended that a special %ppropriation of $525.00 be allowed ~o increase
<br />the salary of the Physician to the Poor to $2500.00 ~er year, ~ffective June 1st, 1923.

<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that he be authorized to purchase property owned by the Se~-
<br />b.os~vd Air Lin.e R~ilroad Company near the old pure_ping station at Green St. and Race Avenue,
<br />for $3,000.00, ssid property being assessed at $2,831.00 and now being leased by the City
<br />$2~3.00 per year.
<br /> It is rec6m~,ended that an appropriation of $3,000.00 be allowed, from the New Sewer- $3000.

<br />Recommend~tion of the ~anager that the zoning of the City be undertaken at once with the
<br />understanding that payment therefor is to be made f~6m the proceeds of a bond issue made after
<br />!ly l%th, 1923; and that ~T~ be authorized to emplolkan expert }ndividual Or firm in an
<br />so=y capacity both to t~e City ~&mnager ~nd to the Zoning Commmssion whiot~ has already been
<br />thorized by the Council, the'estimated cost of ~he"Work being $7,500.00, of which $6,700.00
<br />will be needed to cover the services of an expert and the remainder for inciden.t, ial expenses.
<br /> We repo~t Progress on the same, and it is recommended that the City Man~ger be
<br />instructed to present to Council an ordinance requiring owners of P=pDe=~y to p%[t property
<br />in rentable condition and to hold the tenant responsible for any d~mage deliberately done by
<br />him to the property whi6h he is renting.

<br /> Recommendation of the ~an~ger that N. C. Eckert be refunded $10.25 for jitney license,
<br />as Nm. Eckert stopped operating his jitney on January 9th, 1923, and ~urchased license
<br />1st, 1922.

<br /> Recommendation of the Nanager that the License Tax Ordinance governing interurban motor
<br />vRhicles be $~mendedby adding the following words after the figures $51.00: "To be pro-rated

<br /> Communication from the City Attorney doncerning request of G. B. Eittrell'to be relieved
<br />of part of 1921 t~xes and the penalty and interest on 1922 taxes, on property 1920 Elm Ave.
<br /> It is recommende~ that the petition of Nm. Kit%reli be not gra~ted.
<br />
<br /> Petition of the Norman Packing Co., Inc., that taxes paid by them and Carrie E. Norman,
<br />Admrx. for J. E. Norman, for %he Year 1922, on ~he property condemned f6r the opening of Hatton
<br />street, be refunde~.
<br /> It is recommended that the petition be referred to th~ City Attorney.

<br /> And it is further recommended that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay the fol-
<br />lowing bills o~ G~me Wardens, out of funds on hand from collection of Dog Taxes:

<br /> Then Mr. Oast moved that action be deferred on the recommendation to increase the salary
<br />of the Physician to the Poo= to $£~O0. per yea=, until the next regular meeting.
<br /> Er. Brooks moved that the privilege of the floor be gra~ted to Dr. Roper, the Director
<br />of Public Welfame, The mo%ion was mdopted, and Dr. Roper spoke in favor of granting the
<br />increase.
