<br /> AN ORDINANCE P~OHIBITING THE RECEIVING OF OR DEPOSIT OF FARES BY DRIVERS OF AUTOBUSSES
<br />IN TP~ CITY OF PORTSMOUTH:

<br /> Mr. Brooks moyed that the ordinance be adopted. The motion was lost by the following
<br />vote, no~ receiving the three-fourths vote as required by the City Charter for ordinances
<br />carrying an emergency clause:

<br /> AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ~'HE ERECTION OF BUSINESS PLACES, PUBLIC GARAGES AND INDUS-
<br />TRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN RESIDENTIAL SECTIONS:
<br /> Mr. White~ moved ~hat ~he ordinance be amended by striking cum the emergency clause.
<br /> The mo~ion was adopted.
<br /> Mr. Stewart (R.E.B.,) moved ~ha~ the words Wundertaking establishment, be added to the
<br />ordinance after ~he wor~ls ~tndustrial establishment." The amendment was adopted.
<br /> Then Mr. White moved ~hmt the ordinance be adopted, as amended,and same was adopted,.

<br /> AN ORDINANOE CREATING A SAFETY. COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, PRESCRIBING
<br />DUTIES AND THE METHOD OF ITS APPOINTMENT.~

<br /> M~. Brooks moved that the ordinance be amended by striking out the words "prominence
<br />and," making the section read as follows: "Second- Thi~ body shall consist of three members
<br />appointed by the City Manager; one to be the head of ~ City Department, one to be a citizen
<br />of e~perienee not in the automobile business, and one to be a citizen engaged in the automobile
<br />business. The members of this body shall serve Without pay." The amendment was.adopted.
<br /> Then ~a~. stewart (J~ R.) moved that the ordinance be adopted, as ~mended, and same
<br />was adopted, as amended, and by the following vote:

<br />of Portsmouth, under Contract, shall Contain a Clause Guaranteeing the Payment of all Bills for
<br />Labor and Material Furnished in and about the Performance of such Contracts.

<br /> Mr. White moved that the ordinance be adopted. ~. Brooks moved t~t the or~ce be

<br />~ount of bonds.
