White, ,7- <br /> Also the City-Manager. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the regular meeting September llth and adjourned regular meeting September <br />18th were read and were approved, <br /> <br />Finance-- <br /> <br />REPORTS OF COk~/ITTEES <br /> <br />Referred September 18th <br /> <br /> Resolution ~uthorizing the borrowing of a s'~m nom to exceed $390,000.00 from the Banks <br />of the City or from'such other Bank, institution or person from whom said loan m my be obtain- <br />ed, for the purpose of construoti~g the road along the Dismal Swam~o Canal from Deep Creek to <br />the North C~olina State Line. <br /> It is recommended that this resolution be adopted (Mr. smith voting No). <br /> <br /> Resolution providing for the City of Portsmouth to pay to the County of Norfolk 2/3' of <br />the aunual interest on the money borrowed for~the construction of the I~smal SWamp Road'from <br />Deep Creek to the North Carolin~ State Line, and securing to the county of Norfolk payment <br />of money advanced for the construction of said Road. <br /> It isre~mmended that this resolution be adopted (~r. Fb. nd. <br /> <br /> Recommendation of the Manager that he be mAthorized to rent an office in the vicinity of <br />the High St. terminus of the jitneys for the Transportation Supervisor, at $10.00 per month. <br /> Progress. <br /> <br /> Recommendetion of the M~nage= that ~n appropriation of $5,000.00 be allowed from current <br />funds, to be re-imbursed later from the bond issue of next yeam, to pay the City's share of <br />cost' to continue the concrete road from Paradise Creek to Chestnut St. ' .~ <br /> Itis recommended that a special appropriation of $5,000.00 be allowed, from Ninth $~O <br />Ward funds, for this purpose, sp.a~ <br /> <br /> Recommendation of the City Attorney that an appropriation of $%00, be m~de, to compromise <br />the case of Mrs. Lorene M. Redford against the City f6r injuries sustained by stepping into a <br />hole in the asphalt mt the corner of Oounty and Court streets on _the night of April 22,. 1923. <br /> <br /> <br />
