This left a hole the depth of the paving, the width of the street about ten feet
long on the north of ~pratley Street and twenty feet on the south of Spratley Street. The
hole thus lef~ on the north of Spratley Street was filled with sand and later a few cinders
were added to this. Webster Avenue south of Spr~tley Street is~ still blocked and for this
reaeSn cmnnot be used. All of the City's trash and garbage 'texTs h~ve to drive down the sidewalk.

I hmve asked Gen. Jervey to complete this little bit of paving but he tells me that
he hms no money with which to do this and for this reason I am asklng that the City Council
find some way to do this. It seems like poor business ts spend thousands of dollars to pave
m street and then deny the people the use of this street for the l~ok of

In addition to the above the asphalt on the northwest corner of Webster Avenue and
Spratley etreet is about five inches hi~her than the iron ~ratin~ over th~ ~u~_
