June 6, 1995 At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, June 6, 1995, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr. 95-265 The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a special call meeting of the Portsmouth City Council on Monday, June 5, 1995, at 5:30 p.m. ~n the Commerce Bank Conference Room, Second Floor, 500 Crawford Street, Portsmouth, Virginia, and Tuesday, June 6, 1995, at 5:30 p.m. in the Commerce Bank Conference Room, Second Floor, 500 Crawford Street, Portsmouth, Virginia, for the purpose of considering a motion to go into Executive Session for discussion and consideration of Council appointees as permitted under Section 2.1-344 (A) (1), Code of Virginia. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Discussion of a personnel matter involving a Council appointee, as permitted under Bubsection (A) (1). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and from (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
