<br />I.amsing Avemue, in the Ninth ~mrd~ two fo,~udry plants have been established, one by the ~erican
<br />Brake Shoe and Foundry Company, the o+~her by the Southern ~eel Company.
<br />
<br /> These pl~mts not omly represent ~ large investment of money, but in working to full
<br />capacity will give employment to approximately two hundred hands, skilled and unskilled male
<br />l~bor.
<br /> The dirt streets reaching these plants from the George Washingtom Highway is very
<br />unsatisfactory. Can you not furnish us with ~ hard surface roadwafff nor~0ne h~lf block on
<br />ElmAvenue, and west along LindsaY AVenue, Be~ch Street and ~lIa~sla~llAvehue; ~' ~iStahCe of
<br />approX~-telyl200 feet, thus giving us a hard surface roadws~y to the city, its wharves and
<br />railroad stations.
