<br />track on Elm Ave. south of Lincoln St. to a point between Jefferson and Maupin Sts. It is
<br />recommended that this request be granted, provided they construct a water-bo~md macadam pave-
<br />ment in the a~ea now oc~pied~by the side track."

<br />the Finance 0ommittee as it will be needed before the first meeting of the Council in October."

<br />for a roadway from Curb to curb. While the project is a worthy one there are no fun~s avail-
<br />able at present."

<br />animals which .it had been intended to dispose of, rendered necessary by the large amount of
<br />new work, the ~appropriation for forage, City Stables, is nearly exhausted. We have, however,
<br />sufficient funds Ln the appropriatio~ ~r:.Street Gleaning to ca~e for this.

<br /> 6th. "I~regret to amuounce the death, on September 19th, of Mr. 0olumbus Journee, a
<br />retired employee of the Department of Public Service.

<br /> ~. Jou~nee served the City faithfm~ly for many years and was actively engaged
<br />in his work up to a few months ago when physical disabilities rendered it necessary for him
<br />t~ be retired."

<br /> 7th. "Mr. Paul G. Blanford has applied for permission to erect garages in rear of his
<br />filling station at Wythe ~d Court Sts. He has the assent of the majority of the owners of
<br />buildings within a 200 ft. radius, as indicated by the attached letter.

<br /> A Oity o~dinance requires that the Oouncil shall approve sites for churches, hospitals
<br />and objectionable stractures. In this last class, ! am of the opinion garages would be in-
<br />eluded.
