June 12, 1995 At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Monday, June 12, 1995, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James C. Hawks, *James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., C. W. McCoy, Assistant City Manager, George M. Willson, Acting City Attorney. 95-267 The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 1995, for the purpose of a joint meeting with the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority and a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Discussion or consideration of the use of real property for public purpose citywide, the disposition of publicly held real property in the downtown section of the City, and the acquisition of real property for public use in the Cottage Place section of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); and (2) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); and (3) Discussion or consideration of a personnel matter involving a Council appointee, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1). The motion was adopted bY unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the i~ediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) 0nly public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
