June 26, 2001 " ~ 7 3 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, there were present: *Mayor James W. Holley Ill, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C~ Pitts, J~ Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. WhitehUrst, Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. 01 - 192 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2001 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." 01 - 193 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. Six-year Urban Allocation Plan (VDOT) 2. Item Submitted by City Manager In accordance with the Manager's memorandum to City Council pertaining to two unfunded organizations that were not included during the budget process, it was the consensus of Council to fund both and for the Manager to continue his policy of bringing these matters to the full Council. 01 ~ 194 - Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into 'Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2~1-344(A)(1) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: appointments to boards and commissions. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the COuncil Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
