168 <br /> <br />June 27, 1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, June <br />27, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />*James C. Hawks, *James T. Martin, <br />Robinett, Jr., Johnna R. Whitaker, <br />Willson, Acting City Attorney. <br /> <br />*Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., <br />Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward <br />City Manager, George M. <br /> <br />95-303 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a joint meeting with the Planning Commission and a <br />Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 95-304 The following item was discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Joint meeting with the Planning Commission <br /> <br />The following Planning Commission members were present: <br /> <br />Jimmy R. Spruill, Sr. <br />Raymond Turner <br />Susan T. Hansen <br />Robert C. Barclay, IV <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and <br />into Executive Session pursuant <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia <br /> <br />seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go <br />to provisions of Section <br />for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />members concerning a legal matter involving a property line in <br />Suffolk, as permitted under Subsection (A) (7); and <br /> <br /> (2) Consideration of a personnel matter involving Council <br />appointees, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
