<br />Water ditch at the intersection of the southern property line of the Richmond Oed~r Works
<br />property with the ditch and-that I he,authorized to start preliminary work cn this dam. Ap-
<br />proval of the construction ~ud~ authorization of the preliminary work is necessary at this
<br />meeting of the Oouncil as explained, to ~the Finance Oommittee, Th~ necessary appropriation
<br />amounting to $2,050.00 may go through the-usual channels-to the Finance-Oommittee.#

<br /> On motion of Mr. Brooks, the recommendation of the Manager was concurred in, and the

<br />of Portsmouth. As it was necessary to pay the writ tax witina specified time I advance&
<br />this amount aud the costs of the court dockets for the present t~rm. Therefore I request
<br />that you will pay me the sum of $9.50.advanced. It will also be necessary for the Oity to
<br />pay the estimated cost of printing the record which is $4?5. without the exhibits and $?5.00
<br />with the e~hibits. ! respectfully request that this matter be referred ~o the Finance Com-

<br /> A report was received from the 0ommissioner of the Revenue of erroneous assessment of
<br />taxes for the Year 1925, and same was referred to Finance 0ommittee.

<br /> The consideration of a new Charter for the Oity of Portsmouth was taken up, and a letter
<br />was read from the City Attorney in which he suggested several additions and changes in the
<br />new 0bar ter.
<br /> Consideration of~he same was-continued until ll, o'clock. Then Mm. Brooks moved that
<br />time be extended to 11:30. The motion was unsm~mously adopted.
<br /> At 11:$0 Mr. Brooks moved that 0ouneil ad~ourn to meet Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock
<br />to continue consideration of the 0barter. The motion was adopted.
