<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that S.V. Sawyer, Asst. Supt. of 0emeteries, be retired
<br />'effective Febru~ryflst, at a salary of $3?.50 per-month; provision having been made in the
<br />budget for this retirement.
<br /> It is recommended that the Manager's recommendation be concurred in.
<br />
<br /> Recommendation of the Manager that the City pay, out of appropriation in the budget for
<br />#Gratis Prescriptions," the balance of $30.00, due Dr. Russo on account of personal services
<br />rendered ~o R.O. Scott, hoseman in the Fire Department, after sm accident in which Mr. Scott's
<br />arm was broken; the 0ity having paid $20.00~of the $50.00 bill last year.
<br /> It is recommended ~hat the balance of $30.00 be paid, out of appropriation in the
<br />budget for ~Gratie PresCriptions."

<br /> Request of F. M. Wilder and J. H. Sykes to be rel~nded $33.60 paid in taxes for the ~ars
<br />1922 and 1923, on two pieces of property ~'i~uated in Marshall Ward, which were listed twice;
<br />the lots in q~estion being number ~5 on Hedges &Grice plat and 72 on R. L. Alexander plat,
<br />assessed for $600,00 and $200.00. -

<br /> Petition of the First Lutheran Ohurch for exemption of taxes on lot at the northwest
<br />corner of Washington and Eing streets, said property having~ been purchased on July 21, 1~2~,
<br />and been used as the site for the Lutheran 0hutch.

<br /> Bill of F.F.V. Staples to amount of $50.00, for services as Notary and stenographer
<br />in taking depositions in behalf of the Oity in injunction suit of Weiss et al. vs. the Oity,
<br />pending in OSrcuit Oou~t of Norfolk Oounty.
<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation of $50.00 be allowed to pay said bill.

<br /> Request of the Salvation Army to be relieved from payment of $~1.~6 taxes on property
<br />225 0ounty s~eet, said property having been purchased by the Salvation Army ~uly 2, 1925,
<br />from the Estate of Sas Rosenthal.
<br /> It is reoommended~that-the Salvation Army be relieved from payment of ~he $~1.56
<br />taxes on sa~d property, as requested.

<br /> I have been in correspondence with Nessrs. Isaac Fass, Inc., relative to extending the drain
<br />at ~he end of Oolumbia St. in order that they may fill in part of this street and extend their
<br />fish packing establishment. ~f this is done, Mr. Sol Fass tells me that improvements Will be
<br />made costing probably $~0,000.00. The cost to the City of extending the drain will be
<br />
<br /> Mr. Fass is willing to go. ahead amd complete this work witch the understanding that when
<br />ali improvements including the. addition to ~is plant have been completed, the Oity will
<br />inhurse him to an extent not to exceed $1,375.00.
