210- <br /> <br />August 8, 1995 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, August <br />8, 1995, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, James T. Martin, <br />Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., Ronald W. Massie, <br />Acting City Manager, G. Timothy Oksman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />95-366 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, 1995, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor," <br /> <br /> 95-367 - The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Elected School Board <br />2. CIP/Operating BUdget Timeline <br />3. Financial Planning <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br />to go <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion of the acquisition of real property for <br />public purpose in the southern portion of the City, as <br />permitted under Subsection (A)(3); <br /> <br /> (2) Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff <br />members concerning a development agreement, as permitted under <br />Subsection (A) (7); and <br /> <br /> (3) Consideration of appointments to boards and <br />commissions, as permitted under Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia <br />certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted bY unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />~'Gloria O.
