March 19, 2002 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, there were <br /> present: <br /> <br /> Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts <br /> P. Ward Robinett, Jr., *J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. <br /> Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck. <br /> <br /> 02 - 80 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council <br /> Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2002 for the <br /> purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In. addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />02 - 81 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. Center for Community Development, Inc. <br />2. FY 2003 Operating Budget <br /> <br />02 - 82 - Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711{A) of the Code of Virginia, [o discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br /> employee personnel matters, as authorized by paragraph 1. <br /> <br /> the performance of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of the <br />City, as permitted by paragraph 1. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, ceKifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br /> the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br /> the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unammous vote. <br /> On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. <br /> <br />Senior Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />*Councilman J.
