March 19, 2002 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts P. Ward Robinett, Jr., *J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck. 02 - 80 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2002 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In. addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." 02 - 81 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. Center for Community Development, Inc. 2. FY 2003 Operating Budget 02 - 82 - Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711{A) of the Code of Virginia, [o discuss or consider the following: employee personnel matters, as authorized by paragraph 1. the performance of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of the City, as permitted by paragraph 1. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, ceKifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unammous vote. On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Senior Deputy City Clerk APPROVED - Mayor *Councilman J.
