225 <br /> <br /> Auqust 22, 1995 <br /> <br /> "The new Norc~m High School has been scheduled for <br />occupancy in September of 1997 in accordance with your <br />d~rectlon. The school has been designed for a capacity of 1800 <br />students and is intended to replace the existing school. This <br />projiect has been included in Capital Improvement Plans and will <br />need to be defrayed i~ further CIP's as well. <br /> <br /> Bids were received on August 1, 1995 for construction of <br />the school and associated site-work as shown on Attachment No. <br />1. The City investigated all potential bidders during a <br />prequalification process prior to advertising for bids. The low <br />bidder, Conrad Brothers, Inc., was determined to be capable of <br />performing the required work. The anticipated project cost and <br />funding breakdown is shown on Attachment No. 2. <br /> <br /> The School Board is scheduled to vote on award of the <br />consltruction contract at their August 23, 1995 meeting. The <br />Direlctor of Public Works recommends an appropriation in the <br /> <br /> I recommend your approval of this ordinance to appropriate <br />the ~ecessary funds." <br /> i Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to adopt <br />the ~ollowing ordinance to appropriate $32,343,034 for the <br />construction of the new I.C. Norcom High School, and was adopted <br />by the following vote: <br /> I. <br /> i AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $32,343,034 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW I.C. NORCOM <br /> IGHISCHOOL." <br /> I , <br /> yesi: Clemons, Griff~n, Pitts, Webb <br /> ays: Hawks, Martin, Robinett <br /> i , <br /> 5-1~)? - Letter from the Acting C~ty Manager recommending <br /> dqp~on of an ordinance to appropriate $84,787 in HOME Program <br /> ncome funds from the Community Development Fund. <br /> <br /> "The City has $84,787 in HOME Program Income which may be <br />appropriated for other HOME activities. These funds have been <br />collected as the result of the sale and rental of properties <br />acquired and rehabilitated with federal HOME funds. <br /> <br /> T~is appropriation will be used for eligible activities <br />including acquisition and rehabilitation of additional <br />dilapidated properties in our City. <br /> <br /> I recommend your approval of an appropriation of $84,787 <br />from the Community Development Fund." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to <br />the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> I"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $84,786.49 FROM THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR THE USE OF ROME PROGRAM ALLOWABLE <br />ACTIVITIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ACQUISITION AND <br />REHABILITATION OF DILAPIDATED PROPERTIES IN THE CITY." <br /> <br />Ayes: ~riffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: Clemons <br /> <br /> <br />
