Shirley H~oe, State Game Warden, to ~mount of $67.50 and <br />$65.00, for services rendered in destroying tagless dogs. <br /> On motiom of Dr. Dunford, the Treasurer was authorized to pay said bills, out of funds <br />on hand from collection of Dog Taxes. <br /> <br />The following communication was read from J. H. Sykes & F. M. Wilder: <br /> <br />"Portsmouth, <br /> <br />Virginia. <br /> <br />The Honorable Oity Council <br />and City Manager. <br /> <br />Gentlemen,- <br /> <br /> In ju~e 1926 your honorable body passed a ~resolution aEreeing to reimburse the <br />undersigned for certain street improvements, ~'eurbing a~d guttering~, which were installed <br />at that time under the supervision of the city engineer, and according to city specifications, <br />at a cost to us of $3189.13. At that time we also had installed sidewalks, which brought our <br />total expenditure for this work to about $?000.00. <br /> <br /> This refund was to be made from a bond issue for street improvements; but we feel <br />sure that when it is brought to ~our attention that because of these improvements, and much othert <br />developing in this t~mc~,~}_g~_~gt_ex~ense ~? us, there have already been built twenty odd <br />homes at a cost of acou~ $1E~,ooo.
