<br /> At your last meeting, you referred ~o.me m petition from Bessie Baldwin asking to be
<br />relieved of certain taxes because of a double assessment. I find that Bessie Baldwin before
<br />her marriage was Bessie BroWn an~ that she.bough~.lots, lS8 and 189 as Bessie Brown, and.later
<br />bought lot 190'as Bessie 'Baldwin, In 1925 she built a house on the land and was assessed by
<br />both the Assessors a~d'the 0ommissioner of the Revenue, one placing a value of $1400 on the
<br />~ilding and the other a value of $65~. The $650 assessment is .e~roneo~s a~,d,~ should be
<br />relieved of ~h8 following taxes: 192~ $16.25; l~2y $1Y.55;.192~ $11.22, aua £~ $17.22.

<br />~a~er Bonds, Suburba~Water Bonds, and Nansemond Water Bonds, amounting to one
<br />of these bonds were due at the time of our assuming ownership.of the water ~t
<br />agreed to deposit with the Equitable Trust Co. and the.Farmers Loan &Trust N~ew York,-
<br />a like amount of the Portsmouth, Virginia, Water Bonds, to be exchanged par feT for the
<br />then outstanding water bonds, upon the option of the holder thereof, for aperiod~of ~en years
<br />from January 1, 1919.
