Mr. Mayo moved that the communication be referred to the City Manager, with instructions to work ou~ some pla~u whereby~the City can get clear of the weed nuisance and report back to the City Council. The motion was adopted. The following ordinance, which had been placed on first reading by Council August 13th, was taken up and read: An Ordinance Requiring Owaers o= the Agenta of Owners of Buildings Located Along the Line of the Cit~y Sewersg~ System to Connect with the Said Sewerage System, and Providing Penalties for the Violation Thereof. On motion of M~, ~st,- the ordinance was laid on the table. The following motion b~iMr. Stewart placed on first reading by Council July 23rd and continued on the table by counci~ ~Augustl3th, was taken up: "To adopt Scott's system of b~dgetsa~y control amd to approprmate $2150.00 to Barry same in~o effect." On motion of Mr. Brooks, the motion was adopted, and by the following vote: Ayes-- Brooks, Maupin, Oast, Stewart, Ogg, 5. Nays-- Mayo, 1. - - NEW BUSINESS Bills were re~d from J. Shirley Hope, State Game Warden, to amount o~ $8?.50, for ser- vices rendered in destroying 35 tagless dogs $ $2.50 each; and D. W. McKenney, State Game Warden, to amount of $55.00-, for services rendered in destroying 22 tagless dogs $ $2.50 each. On motion of Mr. Brooks, the Treasurer was authorized to pay the bills, out of funds on hand from collection of Dog Taxes. Mr. Ogg asked that the following matters which had been on the table for some time, be taken up and bonsidered by the Oouncll.: 0onsolid~i~n~f .fire ho~mses; consolidation oftt.he Inclne=ator, Stables, and Material Ys~d; z~adju~mentof~wate~ rates. The President stated that he would call a conference of the Council for Tuesday, Sep- t'$mber 3rd, at 8 p. m., to consider these pr6jects. On motion, ~djourned.
