Lewis Thomas, <br />counsel for John Guy Saunders a2ad Sophie Goldie Thomas, who spoke as to the petition. <br /> Ogg, the recommendation of the ~Ity Attorney to relieve said taxes <br /> <br /> On motion of <br />was conc~r~ed in. <br /> <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> The following resolution from the Board of Stewards of the Park View N.E. 0hutch was <br /> <br />read: <br /> "~ a meeting of the Board of Stewards of the Park View M. E.' 0hutch held Monday, July <br />14, 1930, the following was adopted: <br /> WHEREAS, the change in'2he routing of the Park View street cars which now operate <br />between High Street and Elm Ave. has rendered these ca.rs useless as a means of transportation <br />between Park View and the Navy Yard, and <br /> WHEREAS the noise made by these ca~s seriously i~terferes with services held in this <br />Ohurch, and <br /> WHEREAS motor v~hicles oan be substituted for these street cars without inconvenience <br /> to those who now use them, and with greater 'safety to passengers and the public at the present <br /> street o~r terminus High and Middle Streets, <br /> <br /> Therefore we respectfully petition the Honorable Oity Oouncil to have these street <br /> cars replaced by motor Vehicles. <br /> <br />Robt. Shirley Hope, State Game Warden, to amount of $175.00, for <br />serV~'mces rendered in destroying ?0 tagless dogs $ $2.50 each. <br /> On motion, the Treasurer was authorized to pay same, out of funds on hand from collection <br />of Dog Taxes~ <br /> <br /> A bill was received from R. H. Bagby to amom~t of $25.00, for representing a prisoner <br />by Order of Oou~t. <br /> On motion of Mr. Oast, a special appropriation of $25.00 was allowed to pay said bill. <br /> <br />A petition w~s presented from certain residents of Armstrong street, f~om Ann to Sp~tley, <br />for some improvements on said street so they will be relieved from the excessive amount of dust. <br /> On motion of Mr. Maupin, the petition was referred to the Oity Man,ger. <br /> <br /> The President of the Oou~cil appointed the following Oommittee to draft suitable resolutions <br />on the death of General Wendell 0.
