<br /> Mr. Mayo moved that the rules be suspended to hear a~y persons present who may desire
<br />to present any matter to the Council. The motion was adopted.
<br />
<br /> Mrs. Triplett, heading a delegation from the West Park View Garden Club, stated that
<br />the people in West Park View were not in favor of ~ causeway over Spratley street but were
<br />in favor of the bridge being rebuilt, and asked for curb and guttering on Mathews Terrace,
<br />part of Ward Terrace, and the 17OO block.of McDaniel street.
<br /> On motion, the request~of Mrs. Triplett was referred to the City Manager for investiga-
<br />tion and recommendation.
<br />
<br /> A delegation aske&~favorable consideration of their petition to pave Green street,
<br />from South to Scott.. (Pe~tion to come up Ruder "New Business")
<br />
<br /> Mr. Lorenzo Cart asked the Council to consider better drainage in Gander Creek, between
<br />Washington a~d Dinwiddie streets, in the 1931 Budget.
<br /> On motion, the matter*was referred to the City Manager.
<br />
<br /> The minutes of the regular meeting Septem~r 23rd and~special meeting.September 25th were
<br />read and were ~pproved. '~ _

<br /> ' Y ~er stated verbally that the Assessors would'hold 5 public meetings for the
<br /> purpose of hearing complaints~on the assessment on the following dates~and hours:
<br /> October 2?th, 2Sth, and 29th: 9:00 to 12 a~ m.; 2 to 5 p. m.
<br /> October 3Otb & 31st: ?:O0 to 10:O0 p.~'m.
<br /> Mr. Cast moved that the assessment records be opened to the public for ten days prior
<br /> to th~ meeting of the ~ssessors to hear complaints.'
<br /> The motion was adopted~

<br /> The following com~munication was read from the Ci~y Manager:
<br /> "I am requesting that ~4DO.OO
<br /> be approprimted for the Oourts, for the remainder of the year; $350~O0 for Jurors' fees and
<br /> $100,00 for necessary supplies.,
<br />

<br />a~k them t~ be more-conservative in the calling of jurors.
<br /> The motion was adopted.

<br /> for the remainder of the Year be adopted.
