<br />At a regular meeting of the City Council held December 9th there were present:

<br />Messrs-- Vernon A. Br6oks, W. R. Hutchins, E.
<br /> J. Alden Oast, Archibald Ogg, J. R.
<br /> Also the City Manager.

<br />Stewart, 6.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the regular meeting November 25th were read and were approved.
<br />
<br /> The following communio~ions were read from the City Manager:
<br /> 1st, "This is to inform
<br />you of the progress b~lng made on the land book. This book is in splendid shape and work
<br />is progressing very satisfactozily on same.
<br />
<br />As stated before there is .no reason to doubt that the book will be completed on time.#
<br />
<br />On motion, the communication was ordered to be ~iled.
<br />
<br /> 2nd. "In October, it was necesssm~ to m~ke an expenditure of $624.00 from the Jail
<br />appropriation for the purchase o2 a new boiler. After spending thisamount of money we
<br />found it necessary to renew the entire steam return line to boiler and %o install a front
<br />section to the boiler at a total cost of $48?;00.
<br />
<br /> In order to pay for the~e additional repairs and to care for current bills through
<br />the end of the year, I am requesting a special appropriation of $~50.OO for the Jall fund."
<br />
<br /> On motion Of Mr. Stewart~ a special appropriation of $85Q~O~was allowed forsaid.
<br />purpose, and by the following vote:

<br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS

<br /> The following ordinance, which had been placed on first reading November 25th, was
<br />taken up and read:
<br /> -' AN ORDINANOE AUTHORIZING THE BORROWING OF T~O HUNDRED AI~ TWENTY-FIVE
<br />THOUSAND ($225,000.00) DOLLARS, IN ANTIOtPATION OF T~ COLLECTION OF THE REVENUE OF 1931,
<br />AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A NOTE OR NOTES THEREFOR.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Ogg, the ordinance was-amended to~.read 9mature six months after
<br />date" instead of "December 23, 1931-#
<br />
<br /> Then on motion of Mr. Ogg, the ordinance w~s adopted,, as amended, and by the following
<br />vote:
<br /> Ayes---.Brooks, Hutchins, Maupin, Cast, Ogg, Stewazt, 6.
<br /> On motion of Mr. Stewart, the tales were suspended to.consider the following ordinance:

<br /> AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BORROWING OF TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-~IVE THOUSAND ($225,000.00)
<br />DOLLARS, IN ANTICIPATION OF THE COLLECTION OF THE REVENUE OF 1931, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
<br />ISSUANCE OF A NOTE OR NOTE~THEREFOR, (This-ordinance differs from above ordinance in ~

<br /> On motion of ~Lv. Stewart, th~ ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br /> On motion of ~r,. Maupin, the-City .~anager was authorized:to proceed to sell the $225,000.00
<br />of Notes under either of the ordinanoe~adopted above.

<br />personal property taxes paid in error, $1~ for 1929 and $1~3 for
