<br />
<br /> 2nd - The improvement and extension of whiteway on High St,
<br />
<br /> 3rd - Such other business that ,may properly come before the body.

<br /> The prop6sed contract between the Oity of Portsmouth and the Virginia
<br />Electric and Power Oompany for the electrification of the Suffolk water plant was taken
<br />up and on motion was referred to a 6onference of the Oouncil.
<br />
<br /> Oommunication from the Oity Manager in reference to improvement and ex-
<br />ten~ion of whiteway on High St. was taken up. On motion the privilege of the floor
<br />was granted James A. Eulvey who oresented a petition, from residents and owners asking
<br />that the whiteway be olaced on O~awford Street between ~een and Oo~mty Streets and on
<br />Oo~uty Street between-Orawfordand Oou~t Streets~'
<br />
<br /> On motion, t~e Oity Manager's communication and petition were referred
<br />to a conference of the ~o~uczI,
<br />

<br />* That the Oounty of Norfolk and the Oity of Portsmouth each borrow
<br />$5,000.~ m~kingau~ggregate of $10,000., and charge to the acco~ut
<br />of the new ferry boat, this same to reimburse the current fund of
<br />the fSrry for the amount spent in interest while the boat was under
<br />const~dction, same having been made a capital charge;~
