<br /> At a Regular Meeting off. the City Council held on Tuesday,
<br />January 9, 1996, there were present:

<br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webbr Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons,
<br />Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Jaxaes C. Hawks, James T. Martin,
<br />Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., Ronald W. Massie,

<br /> Vice Mayor Johnny Clemons opened the meeting with prayer
<br />which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Webb called the meeting to order and welcomed all in
<br />attendance.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to
<br />approve the minutes of a Called Meeting on December 12, 1995; a
<br />Regular Meeting on December 12, 1995, was adopted by unanimous
<br />vote.

<br />96-07 - Presentation to Vice Mayor Johnny Clemons for five
<br />years of service.
<br />
<br />96-08 - Presentation of special pins to newly appointed Boards
<br />and Commissions members.

<br />1. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, spoke on a newspaper
<br />article dated December 31, 1995 concerning visions for 1996 and
<br />various budget items.
<br />
<br />2 Carolis Shropshire, 1202 Ruxton Court, Chesapeake, spoke on
<br />a Personnel Department issue.
<br />
<br />3 Jeanne Johnson, 5045 Bennetts Past Road, Suffolk, spoke on
<br />vandalism of cemeteries.
<br />
<br />4 Mary Farmer, 4817 Mallard Crescent, spoke on vandalism of
<br />cemeteries.
<br />
<br />5 Mary Anne Jones, 4817 Mallard Crescent, spoke on vandalism
<br />of cemeteries.

<br />houses in his neighborhood by the Fire Department.

<br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT -
<br />
<br />96-10 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
<br />an ordinance to appropriate $1,793,227 from the Capital
<br />Improvements Fund f6r construction of an inlet and new ferry
<br />docking facility on the site of Riverfront Park at the foot of
<br />High Street, and a motion to approve entering into an agreement
<br />with the Tidewater Transportation District Commission (TTDC)
<br />for construction of the proposed facility.
<br />
<br /> A. Ordinance to appropriate $1,793,227 from the Capital
<br />Improvements Funds for constrUction of an inlet and a new ferry
<br />docking facility.
<br />
<br /> B. Motion to approve entering into an agreement with TTDC
<br />for construction of the proposed facility.
