Report of W.P. Jordan & Company, on auditing the. felony books and accounts for july, 1935, was received and ordered filed. Nr. Oast- stated that auto liability insurance was very much higher in Ports- mouth than elsewhere in Virginia, and on his motion, the Nm~uager and the City Attorney were authorized to investigate same and to take the matter up with proper authorities to try to secure an adjustment of same. on motion adjourned. ~ity Clerk-. Hutchins, Leslie T. Fox, S.B. Moore, J.R.$tewart, the Oity Manager. adopted: The City Manager presented the following resolution, which was, on motion, "APPLICATION RESOLUTION Resolution No. A resolution authorizing the E.B.Hawke, City ~anager, to file an application to the United States of America, through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works for a loan and grant to aid in financing the construction of two public school buildings and designating E.B. Hawks~ City Nanager, to Furnish such infor- mation as ~he Government may request. Be it resolved by the Council of ~he City of Portsmouth~ Va. Section 1. That E.B. Hawks~ City Manager, be and he (they) is (ar~) hereby authorized to execute and file an application on behalf of City of Portsmouth~ Va. To the United ~tates of America, for a loan and grant to aid in financing ~he construction of two public school buildings. Section 2. That E.B. Hawks~ City NanaEer~ be and he (they) is (are) hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information as the United States of Amerioa through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works may reasonably request in connection with the appli- cation which ie herein authorized to be filed."
