<br /> Section 1. That the offer of the United States of America to
<br /> the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, to aid by way of grant in financing
<br /> the construcZion of Public School Building, ~ copy of which offer
<br /> reads as follows:

<br /> 1. Subject to the Terms and Conditions (PWA Form No. 210, July
<br /> l, 1936) which are made a part hereof, the United States of America
<br /> hereby offers to aid in financing the construction of a school build-
<br /> lng including necessary equipment and acquisition of necessary land
<br /> (herein called the "Project") by making ~ grant ~o ~he City of Ports -
<br /> mouth, Norfolk County, in the amount of ~5 per cent of the cost of the
<br /> ProJec~ upon completion, as determined by the Federal Emergency Admin-
<br /> istrator of Public Works, but no~ ~o exceed, in any event, the sum of
<br /> $52,200.
<br /> 2. This offer is conditioned upon the SchOol Board of the City
<br />of Portsmouth adopting a resolution agreeing to comply with the Terms

<br />hereby authorized and directed forthwith to send to the Federal Emer -
<br />gency Administration of Public Works three certified copies of this
<br />Resolution and three certified copies of the proceedings of this
<br />Meeting of the City Council, in connection with the adootion of this
<br />Resolution, and such further documents or proofs in connection with the
<br />acceptance of said offer as may be requested by the Federal Emergency
<br />Administration of Public Works°

<br />scribed in the offer will be commenced as early as possible, but in no
<br />event later Zi~an January llth, 1937; that the work will be planned so
