torney be authorized to

#AcoompanyLug this is an option for the purchase of lots ? to 23, inclusive,
in block B and lots 1 to 21, inclusive, in block C, shown on the plat of land formerly owned
by the estate of Olivia S.Cooke and now the property of W.K. Hedges and H.A. Irving, being a
total of 39 lots, fronting on Elm and Camden and on Ru~ter St., adjoining the water works pro-
per~y.
The accompanyimg map clearly defines the property in question.
I recommend that the said property be purchased f~r-$9,000.OO under the terms
of the option; that Camden Ave. and Rutter S~. be closed; that the tract ofland at the north-
east corner, 200 x 200 ft. be set aside for the Armory site, and that the balance be turned
over to the Water Department for enlargement of its si~e; that an appropria~icn of Water De-
partment funds of $?,000.00, and City General funds of $2,000.00 be made, for the said put -
chase. 'This division is arrived at on a square foot basis, including the s~reets to be closed.
Mr. Irving agrees to apply all of his proceeds, approximately $~,500.00, to
delinquent taxes, and while not embodied in the terms of the option, it is understood that all
of the proceeds going to Mr. Irving, will be applied to the principal and that penalty and in-
terest on the taxes so paid, will be waived.
There is a triangular-strip of land 23.2 feet wide, beginning at the north
limits of the above-described land and running south along Elm Ave. 395' to a vanishing point.
It is essential ~hat this strip of land be ac~uire~ and I further recommend that the owner be
said strip and should the price be not satisfactory, then the City At-
enter condemnation proceedings.#
