I put them on Dr. Denny's payroll, beginning July 1st, at $60.00 per
month~ each.
I recommend an appropriation of $360.00 to carry them three months. At
the end of that time~ I will advise as to whether we should add to the appropriation."

Motion of Mr. Fox to concur in the Manager's recommendation and to appropriate
$360.00 for same, was adopted, and by the following vo~e:

Ayes: Leigh, Fox, Grimes, Howard, Hutchins, Lawrence, War~en,
Weiseman, Wilson = 9
Nays: None

4th - "During the City Attorney, Mr. Barclay"s absence, I consulted with Capt.
Happer as to the City's legal problems.
For services rendered, I recommend t.bat we pay him ~50.O0, and that we
appropriate that ~moun~ at this time."

Motion of Nr. The estimated cost
of this work is $850.00. Could we use W.P.A. labor, we might reduce that cost one-third.
I am in favor of doing this work as soon as we can, consistently, but
as you know our funds are limited, and while we have been able ~o better the condition of sev-
eral of our streets, we still have many that need attention, a~d I feel that we should catch
up with our street improvements, before we appropriate this money.~

On motion ordered filed~

7th - "The School Board
I recommend that
Hunt as to the necessity of it;. also as
vided, this /ear, for $!0,000.00 to the

requests an additional $2,800.00.
this go over until I c~u have time to confer with Mr.
to Where we will get the money.
