March 25, 1996 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, March 25, 1996, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, *Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James Co Hawks, James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, *Po Ward Robinett, Jr., Ronald W. Massie, City Manager, G. Timothy Oksman, City Attorney. 96-108 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chan~ber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 25, 1996, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 96-109 The following items were discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Operating Budget 2. Sports Arena in Hampton Roads Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Discussion of personnel matters, as permitted by subsection (A) (1). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. to go Motion of Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the inunediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) 0nly such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
