<br /> BE IT~ _RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Portsmouth,
<br />that need of sZate assistance existing i~u the City of Portsmouth to
<br />provide for destitute persons in need of public relief, application
<br />is herewiZh made to the Co~nissioner of Public Welfare, pu_~suant to
<br />provision of Chapter 223, Acts of Assembly, 1936, and Chapter 379, .Acts
<br />of Assembly, 1938, for participation in the state relief app~opriatzon
<br />subject to t?~ provisi~n of the said Act and Rules ~ud Regulations,
<br />~fnich have been adopted or may hereafter be adopted by the Governor or
<br />the State Bos~d of Public Welfare pursuant to the provisions of the

<br /> I find ~hat a permit was issued by the Building Inspector ~n May
<br />5, 1932, for wrecking the buildLug 306-8 Glasgow St. The assessment on the buildLug was re-
<br />moved from the Land Book in 1933,-but WaS placed back on the book in 1935 and has continued
<br />until this date. There is no building on the land. The following taxes ~harged against a
<br />.-building should be relieved: 1935- $5.30~ 1936- $5.30, 19~7- $5.00 an~ !938- $5.00.
<br /> 2. Petition submitted by Hattie Bess XounE for Hiawatha Young°
<br /> There is no building on the la.nd of Hiawatha Youb_g at the northwest
<br />corner of First Ave. and Columbia St., and I am informed that there has been no build~-%g on
<br />this land for several years. The following isles assessed against the building should be re-
<br />lieved: 1935-$~o32, 1936- $1.33, 1937- $1o25 ~ud 1938 $1.25.~
