<br />namely the Norfolk Navy Yard and the U.S. Naval Hospital, located at widely separated points,
<br />both of which ~ae people of this community are-very proud of, and are the prlmeipal points of
<br />interest t~ visitors, ~he Portsmouth Lions Club goes on. record as endorsing a proposed through
<br />thoroughfare, connecting these two points, which would elimim~te the hazardous route due to
<br />the many co,nero to be turned by the emergency ambulance, service from the Navy ~ard: to ~he
<br />Naval Hospital, and also this would give a more attractive connecting link for ou~ visitors to
<br />these two' points of interest amd would eliminate a lot of 'apologies about the unsightly ap -

<br />folk Navy Yard, the Oommandant of the U.S. Naval Hospital, the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce,
<br />the Portsmouth Retail Merchants Association and the other eivlc clubs of Portsmouth, asking
<br />for t~hei~ approval, endorsement and support in the e a~ly completion o f this Propesal.
